His journey began in the vibrant world of film and television, starting his career as a location scout. This foundational experience offered him a unique perspective on the intricacies of production crews and the pivotal role of sound in the cinematic alchemy. In 2000, David's vision gave birth to MidCoast Sound. His ambition was clear: to forge a team renowned not just for its technical expertise, but for setting the zenith of industry standards. MidCoast became synonymous with innovation and excellence, known for its proactive approach on set, ingenious problem-solving skills, and unwavering commitment to superior audio quality.

Notably, David’s exceptional talent was honored with the prestigious Gemini Award in 2008 for Best Lifestyle/Practical Information Series for "Chef School". Furthermore, his remarkable work earned a Genie Award nomination in 2009 for Best Achievement in Overall Sound for "This Beautiful City".
